WE SET THE RULES
1. If you want anything to do with us, whether it is communicating with us, taking a course, or seeking membership, you need to understand and agree with our rules.
2. Forn Siðr is a not-for-profit NGO (Non-Government Organization), and official religion with the same status as the Church of Norway, registered with the Government of Norway (Organisasjonsnummer: 922 586 918). As a result, Norwegian laws apply. Forn Siðr is also a registered trademark in Norway (Registration No. 304008), the United States of America (Registration No. 6,903,618), and Canada (Registration No. 1,173,574).
3. According to Norwegian law, it is not allowed to be a member of two religious communities at the same time. Anyone wishing to join Forn Siðr must therefore first opt out of other faiths or life-belief communities. In other words, you cannot be a member of any “Asatru” community or association in America or anywhere else, and be a member of Forn Siðr as well. A form to deregister from the Church of Norway is available here for Norwegian citizens.
4. Your participation in any of our courses or events, or acceptation of your membership, is at our discretion. In other words, we can decide to deny you services or membership for any reason.
GETTING INVOLVED
5. You must be 16 or older for all online courses, and you must be 18 or older to become a member of Forn Siðr, unless sponsored by a current adult member.
6. You must complete any course within 2 years. After two years, your registration will be cancelled and you will be required to register for the course again, and start the course all over again.
7. You must be physically and mentally fit in order to become a member of Forn Siðr, in application of our ancestral beliefs. This includes a healthy mind, but also a healthy body.
8. You must be a male in order to become a member of Forn Siðr ("shield maiden" are a myth), as per our ancestral, traditional and religious laws, including but not limited to Jómsvíkingalǫg, aka The Laws of the Jómsvíkingar.
9. You must also be a male to attend the Forneskja course. Another similar course, Mannasiðr, is available for females specifically.
10. You must also share Mannskapr, our common values, when it comes to masculinity and who we are.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
11. The personal information you either voluntarily provide or is normally made available to us through open source may be checked against various intelligence databases, internal or external, in various countries, for risk assessment purposes, and to decide whether we are willing to provide you services or to associate with you. Such information may also be used to profile you in order to optimize your training or to successfully match you with another bro or tribe. In the event we see you as a threat or a risk, we may gather and store more information about you, from any source or through any method we deem necessary under the circumstances and at our sole discretion, with or without your knowledge or consent, and use such information to protect ourselves and our own as required.
12. All information about you is stored in Norway. We do not share information about you with any third party, outside of what is required under Norwegian law, unless you have been identified as a threat or security risk.
SECURITY
13. We may take any step we reasonably deem necessary in order to ensure our security as well as yours, including but not limited to the security of our organization, countries, assets, infrastructure, communications, and people, with or without prior notice of disclosure.
MONEY

15. Memberships are valid for the term/duration selected and until the last day of the month of subscription. For example, if you get a 5-year membership on 01 March 2022, your membership will expire on 31 March 2027.
16. We do not issue refunds on courses, events, or memberships.

USING OUR MATERIALS
19. We grant you a limited license to use all materials and concepts provided in courses as well as on this web site and any related web site, for your sole personal and honorable use. Any commercial use or any dishonorable use (like falsely claiming to be a follower of Forn Siðr to get a shaving exemption in the service) is subjected to current copyright legislation and more specifically our copyright policy. Namely, under U.S. law (Digital Millennium Copyright Act), you may face up to 5 years in jail, and $500,000 fine for illegally using our content and materials. Under European legislation (Directive 2004/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the enforcement of intellectual property rights), that's up to 6 years in jail, and up to € 60 000 fine, depending on your country of residence. In Canada, you won't go to jail, but you'll still have to cough up $5,000 per violation.
20. You are only allowed to use our symbol (and registered trademark) once you become a member of Forn Siðr, subject to specific conditions, as applicable, as well as honorable use.

22. We do not respond to any communication that is anonymous and does not specifically include the full legal name, contact information as well as business or corporate affiliation and registration (as applicable) of sender, or which promotes or otherwise supports, through its format or content, ideology incompatible with our spiritual and religious beliefs.
23. We do not respond to any legal notices or communications via email or other electronic means.
